Apologies if this isn't the right place to post but I'm not sure what else to do.

Back in February I bought the above mentioned car from a Vauxhall dealer, it's a manual petrol model. When I test drove it I noticed the Drive Mode rocker switch didn't seem to do anything, and the keyless entry didn't seem to work. I mentioned this to the salesman and was assured these things would be fixed, I could choose to collect at a later date once it was all sorted or take it away then and bring it back in when they have space in the workshop. I did the latter as I needed the car immediately.

It was then booked in for a couple of weeks later to have the "brain" of the car reset. I took it in, they phoned me two days later to say it hadn't worked and they will need to find out what to do next, so I collected the car.

It then went back in two weeks later and they gave me a loan car as they weren't sure how long it would take. 3 MONTHS and a week later, they finally said it's ready to collect.

So when I picked up I asked what was done. I was told the Drive Mode switch doesn't do anything, it isn't wired up and that NO manual models use this function. The switch is put there simply because they need to put something there. The keyless entry had been fixed (sort of, but that's a different issue).

Now, in my mind, a blanking plate should be there if a function isn't part of the car, and it shouldn't have taken them three months to work this out, especially since they are a Vauxhall dealer. Surely if it's a standard thing that manuals don't use a Drive Mode function, a sales person would know this?

I can't seem to find anything on the internet to tell me one way or another if this is true or not. I have tried phoning Vauxhall directly and they couldn't help. So to cut a long story short, am I being taken for a mug here? Or is that they are telling me true?
