Hi all,
Just want to start raising this in case others experience it. I had a warning (quite insistent audio and visual on the dash) saying electric traction fault when i turned on my car after an overnight charge. Strangely it still let me engage forwards and start moving but i didn’t go more than a cars length initially. Obviously panicked a little, turned the car off and went inside to look it up.
When i came back to it a couple of minutes later it started up fine and 2 x 70mile commutes have been uneventful and normal.
I’ve done some searching and it seems to be an issue on a number of e-208s which is the same general drivetrain architecture. They smell a recall coming so beed to report it. On their forums they’re just starting to log issues but no fix found and no actual problems with the drivetrain. It seems to be a fault reporting problem and some mention of a 12v battery problem. I’ve not gone back to garage with it yet as there’s no active fault but I’ll email customer care. Has anyone else had this with the e corsa?
Thanks
Nathan
Electric traction system fault
I never updated this post but this fault happened to me whilst driving, broke down and got RAC man to do a full diagnostics. He pulled up all sorts of faults including traction control and braking safety systems - so it went back to Vauxhall a few weeks ago and got a new on board charger, a new traction control computer and several ECU updates. No issues so far since - so get your cars to your dealerships and make them fix it!
My fault list attached
Hope this helps

I have just had this issue after using a rapid charger - would not engage any gear - turned it off and locked it for 20 mins - when I got back in it allowed gear selection and the fault came back.
Awaiting diagnostics and now have to drive an ICE corsa!!

Just had this happen whilst doing 65mph on A69, complete loss of power car coasted to stop in a dangerous place, couldn't restart and wouldn't lock, tried a couple times to restart before ringing police as I was a danger to traffic and RAC. First rescue person turned up couldn't do anything, flat bed turned up to recover and then car sprang back into life as if nothing was wrong. Booked into dealer tomorrow.
Local main Vauxhall dealer not authorised to work on ev?! Had to take it to dealer 30 miles away, they wouldn't give me a courtesy car as the car is still driveable. They said they have never heard of the problem, will update when they get back to me but it isn't looking promising, feel like they are just going to say they can't find anything. Very nervous driving the car today on the same road I broke down on yesterday.
